Women's Soccer Head Coach: Becca Moros

Becca Moros was announced as Arizona Soccer’s head coach on June 16, 2021.

The Wildcats started 2022 with wins over Iowa State and Texas Tech, marking the first time in program history Arizona opened a season with back-to-back wins over Power 5 conference opponents.

During her first season in the desert, Moros helped mentor Jill Aguilera as she became Arizona’s all-time leader in goal’s scored. Moros’ squad also took down rival Arizona State, 2-1, in the regular-season finale, the Wildcats seventh-straight win over the Sun Devils.

Prior to arriving at Arizona, Moros was an assistant coach for Gotham FC in 2020 and helped the club win the east division in the 2021 Challenge Cup, serving as the acting head coach for the final group stage match. Gotham FC finished the Challenge Cup as runners-up in an eventual penalty shootout.

Moros was a standout student-athlete at Duke, where she was an All-American and a three-time All-ACC selection throughout her career. She appeared in 86 matches and scored 15 career goals to along with 20 assists - which is tied for fifth-most career assists in Duke history. She also competed for the USA U21 National Team in 2006 and was a team captain during her senior season.

After her college career was over, Moros was drafted in the sixth round (36th overall) of the 2009 Women’s Professional Soccer Draft by the Washington Freedom. She went on to play three years in the WPS, two years in the Nadeshiko League in Japan and six years in the NWSL.  

Moros retired from professional soccer in 2019 after playing her final season with Utah Royals FC and immediately went into coaching. At the time, she joined a shortlist of players from the NWSL to transition into a fulltime coaching position at the end of their playing career.
